EncouragersHey Everyone,

I hope this email finds you well. Mary and I were recently speaking at a LIQUID Gathering in Roswell NM, yes, the site of the "alien" crash, or "weather balloon" landing, and came across the folks of Grace Community Church. God did some amazing things at this event. One person said that the Gathering helped their Ministry, Their Mission and Their Marriage! As for us, we were simply blessed beyond belief by these folks. They were everything a church, host, leader and servant of God should be. Gracious, hospitable, grateful, joyful, passionate and all with tremendous attitudes. There are a lot of "jokes" about Roswell and the "landing" but I prefer Job's words, "The alien has not lodged outside, For I have opened my doors to the traveler." Job 31:32. It was a reminder to me that we are all one in Christ. I hope you all have a great week and don't forget to check out our new website!

On The Topic Of Leadership

It's hard to lead a cavalry charge if you think you look funny on a horse. Stevenson

You do not lead by hitting people over the head - that's assault, not leadership.
Dwight Eisenhower

I cannot give you the formula for success, but I can give you the formula for failure: which is: Try to please everybody. Herbert Swope

There's nothing more demoralizing than a leader who can't clearly articulate why we're doing what we're doing. James Kouzes

If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader. John Quincy Adams

LIQUID Gathering DVD
Filmed Live at Irving Bible Church in Dallas TX

Session 1: How Do You Pour Your Leadership Into Others?
Craig takes a look at a few different personality styles you may encounter while serving in ministry. After this session you will be able to identify the different personalities within your ministry and have a better understanding of how to manage, lead and "pour" your leadership into them for a more fluid and successful ministry.

Session 2: Soaking Up, Wringing Out
In this session, Craig takes a look at how difficult circumstances can build leadership into your life. "Leadership is released when twisting occurs" is the motto for this session. God never wastes a hurt and Craig uses this session to communicate this transformational process.

Session 3: Help, My Bucket Is Empty
Craig and Mary share their personal testimony of how ministry can consume your family and how the enemy wants to get a foothold on your life in order to destroy your marriage, family and even push you to the point of despair. In this session, Craig and Mary share authentically from their hearts and past mistakes so you can learn how to replenish your soul, when you have nothing left to give. You'll hear practical advise on how to put your marriage and family first, how to cultivate time together and how to be healthy in your relationships.

Together they reinvented ministry to children and families. In four different churches in four different parts of the nation, they designed programs that ministered to thousands of children each week. Their ideas defied schoolroom-inspired Sunday School models and shattered accepted standards of Christian Education. Now, as each one has expanded beyond those original churches into national ministries, they're able to speak openly and honestly as never before.

For 16 years, Sue Miller designed and led the revolutionary Promiseland concept at Willow Creek Community Church. Craig Jutila guided Saddleback's wildly successful children's ministry for 13 years and Jim Wideman led the children's ministry at Church on the Move for 17 years. Reggie Joiner was one of six leaders who started North Point Community Church, serving as executive director of family ministry for 12 years. All moved from church environments to national platforms so that they could leverage their influence to impact the next generation.

In this informal living-room discussion, Reggie, Sue, Jim and Craig talk about what mattered most, what surprised them over the years, what disappointed them in difficult times and what gave them the most hope for the next generation.
